States - Radar and Laser

The "feds" set the frequencies and the states choose the radar and laser equipment. Australian Police Radar (microwave) Bands and Laser frequencies (near infrared spectrum) are allocated by the Australian Communications and Media Authority which is a department of the Federal (Commonwealth) Government. States and territories may add new equipment using these frequencies.

Queensland has gone "Ka" in a big way. The radar is the Decatur Genesis Select operating at 35.1 GHz in the Australian "Wide-Ka" band. There will be 167 units by early 2005. The final total may be 250. Kustom Silver Eagles are operating on 34.9 GHz in the "Ka" band in two states and one territory, according to the distributor. There are some Stalker-Dual mobiles in the ACT too. New Ka-band Radars can be introduced in the future in any or all states. That proves what has been said since the mid-nineties. Ka is not just one frequency as with X and K bands. There are several frequencies within the Australian "wide" Ka band. You need to detect "all" - not just one. The "piecemeal" approach will not work anymore.

Thinking of buying a modified X & K Band Radar Detector with "so-called" stealth credentials? No "X" band? - good. No "Ka" band - a grand and a half's worth of scrap metal, if it's claimed to be for "Australian" conditions!!! It's obsolete! Has been a "has-been" for some time! Watch out for the "champs" of hypocrisy retailing this stuff!!! [Don't agree lads? Tell us where "you" believe "Ka" is used! Or would you prefer to say where it is "not" used? Same diff (sic) boofheads!!!]
Don't want to get stuck with a "part-time" detector? Already bought one from them and it's still in warranty? Ask to have all "Ka" frequencies currently used in Oz added for free. Better still, demand a refund.

If this is wrong, they should show us the detector or publish specifications. Glad to print a retraction based on facts. However, they are warned - if the detector exists (and can be bought) it will be tested against the best
high-tech "digital" detectors on Ka. The prediction? Tarted up 80's technology (analogue - harmonic detection techniques) just won't cut it against state-of-the-art "digital" designs. You don't need scientific qualifications to discern the pros and cons of various radar detectors - just knowledge, experience and a desire to find the truth. And the truth is - "Ka-band radar is here and more is coming". Soon, even the most cunning "radar-rats" will not be able to hide from the truth!!!
